Monday morning, we went to pick up Dixon, one of the members, to take him to the hospital for a tetanus shot. He had stepped on a sharp leaf and his foot was really swollen and painful. After that he took us to see his farm that he had reclaimed from a swamp. He calls his farm Paradise Beach. We also went to his home.
He lives in a nice hut.

Later that day, we went to visit Irene who is expecting her first baby any day. She makes paper bead necklaces and we bought some from her. Her hut was very neat and clean.
The children in the neighborhood wanted us to take their picture.
Tuesday, we ate lunch at the Pearl of Afriqe, where Agnes works. She is the wife of Dixon. She cooked our lunch and it was good. I had goat and posho which is white corn meal and Robert had chicken and rice. Then we taught her a lesson. We were the only people there at the time, other than those who worked there. That place is very busy for dinner and evening where they have a band come and play and they dance but for lunch it is not busy.
On Wednesday, we had a district meeting at the church. Afterwards, we all went to eat Ethiopian food at Abyssinian Gardens. We called ahead so it wouldn't take so long and we ordered what they suggested. Our meal was called the Abyssinian special. One order was for both of us and we ate the whole thing with our hands. We tore off pieces of Injera and scooped up the food. Injera is made with fermented rice here but in Ethiopia it is made with Tef. We washed our hands in a faucet outside the restaurant before we ate. There was a bottle of liquid soap there also and we just let our hands dry in the air. We really liked the food but couldn't eat it all.
